The General Assistance Office of the township has recently been taking a more supportive role in aiding clients who call for help.  It has come to our attention that many residents do not have access to the resources needed to find the kind of aid they may need.

Springfield Township acts as a liaison between our residents and local agencies which may be able to assist them in areas we are not equipped to handle.  From finding donations of furniture and emergency clothing to linking senior citizens with someone to help them with yard work---we have made it a priority to make our Township a better place to live.

The Township also participates in an Emergency Energy and Rent Assistance Program.  We work with local utilities to provide financial assistance to prevent interruptions of service to individuals during financial hardships.  The program also works with local landlords to prevent evictions by negotiating with the landlords and providing some additional financial assistance in making lease payments.  Programs include distribution of school supplies and the severe weather radios.

The Township offers further assistance through referrals to various other social service type agencies or organizations.

Please contact the office if you have need of a fan in the hot summer months.  Limited quantities of fans are available from the General Assistance office.

The General Assistance Office is currently overseen by caseworker Sabrina Graff.
